Coca-Cola Co. may develop cannabis-infused drinks, becoming one of the first major brands to delve into the legal marijuana industry. The drinks would contain non-psychoactive cannabidiol, or CBD, which, among its many uses, is used to ease pain or inflammation. How might this impact the growing legal marijuana industry, and does this mean other major brands will follow suit? Last year, New York Times columnist Maureen Dowd claimed she thought she was going to die after she ate a pot candy bar in her Denver hotel room. The incident highlighted Colorado’s on-going debate about regulating the amount of THC—the ingredient responsible for marijuana’s psychoactive effects—in all cannabis-laced edibles. Colorado now has a 100 mg THC cap per unit on all edibles, with 5 mg being the recommended dose. We decided to conduct our own, unscientific test about the effects of THC levels found in edibles using one, marijuana-friendly couple. We wondered, does consuming an entire pot candy bar in fact produce the same effects that Dowd experienced last year? Watch the clip above to find out what happens when they eat a combined 110 mg of THC. Celebrate the Lord of the Rings AND 4/20 with this CBD based cocktail! ********************************** The Lord of the Rings and the Hobbit has been something of a favorite among the counter cultural crowd since it’s publication, much to J.R.R. Tolkien’s chagrin! It’s true, he was not a fan of the hippies who so loved his work, and actually actively worked to prevent his books publication in the United States where the wrong sort of people were enjoying it. Kind of a killjoy, right? In the end though, money won out the day, the book got published, the hippies all got executive level jobs, and everything turned green. Which brings me to this cocktail, a combination of Jameson Whiskey, CBD oil and Amaro Cio Ciaro, it’s a easy sipping nod to the Ent-Draught served by Treebeard to Merry and Pippin when they’re in his care. The books describe his heady brew as tasting like a cool breeze blown through a deep and mossy forest, which is pretty evocative! Happily I found that this CBD from FxCBD did most of the work for me in the flavor department. CBD in food and drinks is a growing trend I can’t ignore, and while I can’t verify the health bennifits of ingesting CBD, I can clearly see it’s making plenty of people feel better, and I can suggest a tasty recipe it works well in a cocktail for. Here it is: Ent-Draught 2 oz. -or- 60 ml. Irish Whiskey ~.25 oz. -or- ~7ml. Amaro Cio Ciaro An Eye Dropper of CBD Oil Stir over ice Serve up Garnish with rosemary sprig Most of the tools and gear I use on the show can be found on my gear page at: BUT, here’s a couple of links that everyone is almost always asking me

When he started vomiting and was gasping for breath, his mother drove him to the hospital where he went straight to intensive care. Dean Reynolds reports.
